How To Conquer Social Distancing

How To Conquer Social Distancing

March 17, 2020

Hi Dolls!
As if we haven't heard enough about coronavirus / COVID-19  this week has felt like a major tipping point. At this point, coronavirus is a pandemic, confirmed cases are pretty much everywhere, and how we are handling this could be different state to state. Whether it is mandated or you've chosen to yourself Social Distancing and Self Qurantining have been advised.

Although remaining inside is a good way to protect yourself and others from the coronavirus, and is an important measure to help "flatten the curve". It could lead to some boredom and stir craziness, the least of our worries but we have compiled some suggestions to make your time inside as interesting and fun as possible!

______________

1.) Binge that Netflix series you've been dying to watch but haven't had time for.

2.) Write/read poetry.

3.) Give meditative coloring a try

4.) Catch up on your reading.

5.) Treat yourself to face masks and at-home skincare routines you don't normally have time for in the work week.

6.) Get Crafty, keep your mind and hands busy by diving into a DIY project.

7.) Meditate. Try lying down with your eyes closed, palms up and while focusing on your breath. You can also download an app or look on youtube for guided beginner meditations!

8.) Put together the most attractive charcuterie board possible, but you can only use foods you already have in your fridge and cupboard.

9.) De-stress with an in-home workout.

10.) Get some fresh air. All state parks and forest districts across the state are closing to the public. But that doesn’t mean you can’t get outside. Sit outside your house or take a brisk walk around your neighborhood.

11.) Catch up on podcasts. While binging Netflix is an obvious activity don't forget about your podcasts too! You can throw one on while cooking, doing at-home workouts or taking that stroll around the block.

12.) Throw out all your too-old makeup and products. (Tip: most liquid products have a small symbol on them noting expirations, usually six months to a year. This includes sunscreen!)

13.) Clean your house, clear out old things and make a goodwill box.

14.) Start a gratitude journal and make a list of everything you are grateful for daily.

15.) Support local businesses in any way you can. Right now is a tough time for small businesses that require foot traffic. Try to support by buying a gift card you will use later, or order delivery from a small mom and pop restaurant.
