Happy New Year, and with the new year comes resolutions. For those of us trying to kick start a healthy life style change we are writing this blog for you! 

Detoxing can mean a plethora of things, but in this blog we are talking about detoxing the liver. Our livers are were the toxins store and hitting a reset and getting rid of those toxins like sugar, alcohol, pesticides, in our food that we often consume does wonders for our body.Commit to making small changes with your diet and over time it will get easier to cut out these foods that aren't so good for us!

Citrus Fruits

Fruits like oranges, grapefruit, lemons and limes all boost the liver's cleansing ability. We know some of these fruits are tart on their own but let them soak in water over night and then you have the perfect elixir. 

Turmeric

 This herb works wonders for the liver—it helps the enzymes that flush out toxins and contains antioxidants that repair liver cells.

Garlic

Garlic is loaded with sulphur, which activates liver enzymes that help your body flush out toxins. Garlic also holds high amounts of selenium. Selenium is an essential micronutrient that has been shown to help boost the natural antioxidant enzyme levels in our livers. 

Healthy fats

Olives, avocados, and their corresponding oils are some of the best choices. Eggs also fall into this category.

Carrots

Carrots are very high in plant-flavonoids and beta-carotene, which stimulates and supports liver function overall. They also contain Vitamin A, which prevents liver disease.

For any detox, knowing what to avoid is just as important as knowing what to eat. Let’s work to eliminate alcohol, sugar, soy, gluten, and dairy during this detox.
