We're here to talk about stress... as we wind down on our work week, we can feel a lot of stress weather us down from time to time, or more often than we'd like.
Knowing what stresses you out and how to handle it when you are feeling overwhelmed can really help to calm yourself down.
Below are a few helpful tips to be more mindful and to help stop stress in it's tracks.
Stop and notice when your mind starts to wander and your breath becomes short.
It can feel like you are panicked and your heart could feel like it's beating out of your chest.
Instead of allowing this to continue, stop; notice that you are having these thoughts, acknowledge them, and take deep long breaths.
This will help to give yourself a feeling of peace so you can get a grasp on what is happening.
Before reacting to the stress you feel, reflect on how you feel.
Take a minute to think about how you'd like to respond to your stressor. Talk it over with a close friend instead of keeping everything bottled up.
Taking the proper time to pause and reflect will stop you from doing something you will regret later. Realize you're not in an ideal mindset to act when you are in a state of stress.
Sit down with a blank piece of paper and write down anything that comes to mind in that moment of stress.
Putting everything down on paper, all your emotions will help you come up with a plan of action later.
Journaling is also a great outlet, to help you accept what you are feeling and write through it.
Stress is something we can all relate too. Learning how to deal and recognizing the power of our minds is so important!
We hope these few tips can help you eliminate or handle your stress better.
